HDR Panoramics

When I started college back in Spring 2013, I took digital photography.  I learned so much and was excited about each class I attended.  My favorite part of what I learned was the HDR panoramics. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Broadway Bridge - Portland, OR

The Three Sisters - Redmond, OR

Broadway Bridge - Portland, OR

Smith Rock - Redmond, OR

Multnomah Falls - Troutdale, OR

Summer is the best time to get outdoors and enjoy nature at Multnomah Falls.  I couldn't ask for a better day...the weather was perfect and the lighting helped produced some really nice photographs.

Photography - Tulip Festival, Woodburn OR

Every year I take a trip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR around March - April. This is the perfect time when these beautiful tulips start to bloom. I was quite happy to make it in time in to photograph these colorful flowers.  Aren't they Beautiful?

Graphic Design III Projects

Name: Dash
Logo Design: Metal-Type Press Logo
Skills: Adobe Photoshop

This logo design was created for a fictional T-Shirt company named Dash.

Name: The Quest of Nalliya
Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Type: Game Board Design

One of my favorite art projects was learning how to use my skills to create a board game. My design inspiration for the characters and game came from Dungeons and Dragons. The premise of the game is for one of the characters to retrieve the Sword from the Mountains of Nalliya to kill the Fire Giant Ulyessis.

Design Process
I used images from the web including my own art to create the characters, scenes, and textures for the game. To find a box and game board to fit my design, I found an old game from goodwill and carefully used adhesive to attach my designs to the boxes and game board. For the characters, I used medium particle board so they would fit into the stand-up plastic holders.

To find out more about the game, see below for more information.

Graphic Design II Projects

2D POLY
Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

One of the most interesting projects I worked on was 2D Poly.  I used a picture of a siamese cat and created the geometric shapes with Illustrator.  After the 2D poly was done, I moved it over to Photoshop where I added the finishing touches such as the textures and adding a blanket into the scene.

3D INFOGRAPHIC
Skills: Adobe Illustrator

This infographic of England was created to list information about the landmarks, traditions, and history of this country.  My thoughts were thinking how a user would see this information from a Tablet type device.  This led me to create the tablet and add the images on top and on the side to display a 3D view.

Graphic Design Projects

ART DECO POSTER
Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
In our Graphic Design class we had to choose a visual art design style and make a 24x36 poster in Adobe Illustrator.  I chose to create an Art Deco Poster of Laurelhurst Theater here in Portland, OR. This type of style represents smooth lines, geometric shapes,
streamlined forms and bright sometimes garish colors.

ADVERTISEMENT/MAGAZINE INSERT
Skills: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
For our class project, we created our own company logo and we were to display what the business is selling.  Since I am skilled at making jewelry, I added the photograph of my creations and named the business, Blue Star Treasures.

 LEVITATING MAN AND FLYING HAWK
Skills: Adobe Photoshop

Originally this photo showed the fields of the tulips in Woodburn, OR. To make this photograph a little more interesting,  I cut out two images of my husband meditating and a statue of a hawk on a monument and added them to this photo and edited them using photoshop tools.  My husband was resized to be closer in the photo and I added a drop shadow below.  The Eagle re-sized and placed further back with motion added and drop shadow to make it look like it was flying.

CHEETAH LADY - KAUAI, HI
Skills: Adobe Photoshop
First day of class we were asked to create an animal/human hybrid to brush up on our Photoshop skills.  It was intended that the person we edited and added was actually photographed. I used my photograph from Kauai and then found a person on the web.  I adjusted the lighting for the lady, added a shadow, and found a cheetah image which I added onto her face. I used the clone stamp to sample spots on the face and applied to the hands to give it a realistic look.
