I love to draw and back in the day I would literally spend hours working on portraits. From using small 3 x 5 black and white picture samples from magazines, I learned how to shade and to create a grid to make larger sized portraits. With a bit of practice and a lot of drawings later, I felt I was finally able display my work. These drawings were the most difficult, but rewarding in the end. I spent 8 weeks working on the model, the grueling part was the hair with the many strands and different shades involved. Billy Idol took less time and was completed in 6 weeks. Both of these drawings were drawn on 12x16 medium weight paper using HB, 2B, 3B, and 4B pencils.
